When we started building with Pindan we were ahead of the building bubble but then we went through the horrible reality of Pindan going into administration so our building dreams came to a screaming halt. We spoke to a few builders to take on our build, fortunately for us we were only at the excavation stage of the build, however as we were now in the thick of the WA building grant frenzy bubble and the end of covid prices for trades and building products had escalated.

We met with Craig at Ecovision, as well as 3 other building companies, and he was the only one we met with that suggested we could make a few changes to our current plans to make the house layout even more practical and impressive.

His designer came up with some amazing changes that excited us about building again.

My husband and I were constantly hearing horrible stories about building delays, lack of products and skyrocketing costs so we were nervous about what lay ahead for us. Throughout the build Craig, Micah, Shaun and his team of trades were friendly, attentive, obliging and transparent with their costs and invoices.

We were so impressed with the speed of our build as we saw other houses being built around Perth dormant for months whilst we had a trade or two on site nearly everyday beavering away at our dream home.

They navigated our house build, that had many potential reasons for delay as it was a custom design 3-storey home on a steep sloping block with no street parking during the building bubble, and built us a beautiful home finished to a very high standard that we are so happy with and proud of. The actual build itself only took 16 months which for the size of the house and these issues was fantastic.

One thing that we were grateful for was that any issue that arose with the build, as issues arise with any build, they found a solution before telling us the problem.

At the end of it all we are friends with Craig and the team and his professional trades which is testament to the trust, communication and respect that was built during the build.

In particular we appreciate both the elegant simplicity and the thermal efficiency of our home. Many people would have been extremely daunted to build a home for a busy couple living overseas and to have so many consultations via email or phone, but not you. You made the time to work with us and even now when we need an explanation about an appliance or to check out certain fine tuning – which was largely because we did not move into the house immediately – you and the intelligent staff always have time. And another thing we so appreciate is that 2020 was a difficult year for many reasons but you kept the ball rolling as only a very involved director could do and were straightforward about how this would affect the timeframe.

Craig and Micah from Ecovision built our house, on time and on budget. We have built before, but this was easiest build we have ever done. From the very detailed initial discussions on pricing, quoting and planning to the finished product, we could tell that Ecovision have great procedures and process that they had developed over the years. It wasn’t easy finding the right builder to construct our homes. Over a number of months the quotes came back far too high. Clearly, these builders were uncertain of the risks involved in our proposed sustainability technology features. Building a home is undoubtedly one of the most emotionally challenging and stressful life events .
And the relationship with the builder is akin to a marriage with its highs and lows.
The falling in love romantic phase, anything and everything is possible , reality kicks in as time progresses, compromise, negotiation and good communication is required .
My relationship with Ecovision Homes had all elements of a good marriage, we survived , grew stronger together, and an idea became a reality as a building turned into a beautiful home.

My journey with Ecovision Homes began with Craig and our first meeting at the Fern cafe in White Gum Valley over my first kambocha. James a young architect student and family friend added his amazing design skills and brought our vision alive with his computer renders.
Micah joined the team shortly after the build began, his project management and excellent communication skills allowed for a smooth operation and together with Dixie’s gentle calm influences and interior design expertise , Reece and Jake’s excellent tradesman skills, always flexible and obliging , we became a well established team .

Thank you Ecovision Homes , I have a home my family and I are very proud of. “Cluain Ard” (a celtic name I have given to my home) is a testimony to your collaborative teamwork, and it brings me joy living here.

As I said to Micah when I moved in , it feel like I’m on Holidays living here, six months later I still feel like I’m on holidays.

Dear Craig,

I am writing to thank you for building my home. I have spent a little over a year in it now – every season – and I wanted to let you know how comfortable it has been.

Now it is winter. I find I have to check the weather reports when I go out because the house is always so much warmer than anywhere else I might go. I find I need to make sure I wear warmer clothes than I would ever consider wearing when I stay home. The expanse of north-facing windows, together with insulated walls and ceiling has meant that the sun comes in and warms the house and it stays warm all day. We have used the air conditioner from time to time to warm the house, maybe twice a week in the really cold weather, and only to warm the house and then we turn it off. Summer time is the same. We do use the air conditioner, but only from time to time as the direction of the house, the cross-flow of air, and the insulation all serve to keep it cool and comfortable.

Thanks for your help and patience getting the design just right for my needs. You were a great source of ideas and I really felt like we were a team getting the plans ready. Your confidence and belief that we could do this job on my tight budget meant that I could finally have the house of my dreams.

While my budget did not allow many of the environmentally friendly innovations that your homes are so well known for, what you were able to include has meant that I am much better able to face the increase in energy costs faced by householders.

We chose ECOVISION to build our extension to our existing 3br house in Palmyra. The extension was around 100 sqm consisting of adding a new living and room dining room, as well as a new Master Bedroom, large ensuite and walk in robe. There were also modifications to some of existing walls and ceilings in the existing house.

Choosing the right builder is never easy and we were attracted to ECOVISION as being a reputed quality builder, with a good understanding and focus on passive solar building principles.

We were very happy with the final extension that ECOVISION built. In particular the quality workmanship achieved from the team of experienced tradesman resulted in very few workmanship issues as well as a high standard of finish. This was particularly important with the interior finishing where attention to detail differentiates a great job from an average job. We were also very pleased with the project management of the job, finding the project manager very professional, quality focused and a good customer communicator. There will always be some unknowns that are discovered as any renovation progresses and the years of experience of the project manager assisted greatly in working through these issues with us to produce a good outcome. An additional benefit we discovered with ECOVISION was the in-house interior designer. We very much appreciated their input to help in the decision making process to define and refine design elements as well as to choose the final interior finishes.

We would like to thank the professional building and project management team for our excellent extension, which we love. We would have no hesitation in recommending ECOVISION to other customers looking at renovating/building a house.
